CARKEEK PARK SUITE

Carkeek Park Suite is a brand new suite for full orchestra and two pianos. It's a 12-movement tribute to Seattle's greatest city park. Each movement highlights some aspect of this magical place. "The Forest", "The Beaver Dam", "The Trains", even "The Pump Station", with sound effects from the park itself weaving in and out. I really tried to make it sound like being there, and there are parts where I scored an actual specific spot. This is my first release since 2016 and I really busted my brains out to make it great. It is played by my own personal synthetic orchestra, though I hope to get a live orchestra to perform it someday.

What is Carkeek Park?

Carkeek Park is a 216-acre park located in the northwest corner of Seattle. The park is situated in a steep ravine leading to Puget Sound, and Piper’s Creek runs down its middle. Carkeek includes many hiking trails, play and picnic areas, an apple orchard, an immense beaver dam, and a lot more. A pedestrian bridge spans over an active railway, connecting it to the sandy beaches of Puget Sound. In the fall, salmon spawn up the creek, and it’s one of the best places to see this annual spectacle close up.
